Reeva Steenkamp‘s family has expressed their outrage after a controversial movie about her murder by disgraced Paralympian, Oscar Pistorius aired in the US.
The movie titled Oscar Pistorius: The Blade Runner Killer focuses on the trial of the disgraced Paralympian who is currently serving a six-year sentence.
He was convicted for shooting the model on Valentine’s Day 2013, claiming he mistook her for an intruder.
A statement from Reeva’s family said:
“They are horrified and upset to read a report that ‘the movie is told from Steenkamp and her mother’s perspective’,”
“Any impression that the movie is endorsed by the Steenkamp family is untrue and incorrect.”
Pistorius’ brother Carl said the film is a “gross distortion” of what really happened
“The ‘film’ was made with blatant disregard of both the Steenkamp and Pistorius families, as well as complete disregard for Reeva and Oscar,”
